Since the recent release of the Treo 650
a number of issues have become alarmingly apparent:
We ask that PalmOne take immediate action
to fix major problems in the Treo 650.
1. While we seem to be nearly unanimous in the belief that the Treo 650 is a superb piece of hardware, we feel equally convinced that PalmOne is moving in a backward direction from the Treo 600 to the Treo 650 in many areas, not the least of which is button and menu function and convenience.
2. The PalmOne end-user honestly feels deceived, regarding Bluetooth functionality, THE TREO 650 IS NOT A FULLY FUNCTIONAL BLUETOOTH PHONE. More specifically, the common knowledge that the typical $150 Bluetooth equipped cell phone runs rings around the Treo 650 in headset compatibility, consistent connection and overall radio communications.
3. Evidence suggests that many aspects of the new Treo 650 were not fully beta tested in real world working environments before release. Some of these issues are hardware but most relate to the firmware and software used in the unit.
4. The 3rd party software vendor is up in arms over the lack of proactive prerelease communications regarding the new memory type and lack of adequate memory resulting in an inability to run software that the Treo 600 ran well.
